Phil Lynott’s secret son Kevin Finnie claimed to be the long-lost son of Irish hard rocker Phil. He made the shocking claim that his foster parents informed him when he was seven years old. Kevin was born in Liverpool in November 1981 to Michelle Delaney and was initially named Jesse Noordin. He claimed that his father was not named on his birth certificate, that this omission was significant, and that he was given the surname Noordin as a cover-up.

When he was four months old, he was placed in foster care because his mother was unable to care for him. Although details about Kevin’s birth mother are scarce, it is known that she lived in Liverpool from 1977 to 1982 and that she was a frequent visitor to London, where she had family and friends. He believes his mother met Phil in early 1981 at a party in the British capital.

However, he stated that his foster parents were always honest with him about his true identity and revealed who his father was in 1988 by showing him a video of a Thin Lizzy concert. He didn’t get along well with Lynott’s mother Philomena. Seven years later, the family accepted him, and Phil’s mother stated that he shares the late singer’s thumbs and eyes. Macdara Lambe, aka Kevin Finnie, did not previously have strong ties with the Lynott family, but Philomena publicly accepted him in 2010.

On the other hand, the secret son of Phil Lynott met his half-sisters for the first time in 2019. He was present at the unveiling of a limited edition silver coin commemorating his father. The half-siblings went to St Kevins, their father’s old school in Crumlin, South Dublin, where the unveiling ceremony took place. Despite the meeting, Lynott’s three children posed separately with President Michael D Higgins in the school’s library, which is named after the famous former student.
